You were recently pulled over for speeding. The ticket you received was unbelievable. You do not want, or cannot afford, to pay it. What are you going to do? There are speeding ticket attorneys, but when all is said and done, most speeding tickets cost hundreds, even thousands less than hiring an attorney. Ergo, what justification does one have for hiring a lawyer to fight a a speeding ticket? Well, actually, there are some justifiable reasons, and they make complete sense. If any of these following reasons apply to you, then hiring a lawyer to fight a traffic ticket is completely justified.
There Is Something "Off" about the Ticket
The ticket accuses you of something that definitely did not happen. If it states that you caused an accident, you were intoxicated or "under the influence," or appeared to be "under the influence," and none of that happened, you should fight the ticket. In general, police officers are not supposed to fabricate anything on a ticket, and most do not. Those that do have done something illegal, and they assume that you will just pay the ticket and never show up to court. That is precisely why you should show up to court to fight the ticket. It prevents the misbehaving officer from achieving whatever his/her goal was of manufacturing a story around your ticket.
The Points Deducted Could Cost You Your License and Your Livelihood
The ticket is extremely punitive. It requests that a large number of points be removed from your license, and that you pay a really high fee on top of it. If you are the only breadwinner in the house, and you already struggle financially, the last thing you want to do is pay a very large fine. Additionally, when the ticket is going to remove so many points that it costs you your license and no one else in the home can drive, that will also cost you your livelihood. At this point and juncture, the cost of a lawyer to fight this ticket, or at least get the points and fine reduced, is well worth it.
It Will Make Car Insurance Unaffordable
Almost every state now requires that drivers carry insurance. When you can barely pay for the insurance you have, a speeding ticket can drive the cost of your insurance up to the point where you cannot afford insurance at all. No insurance means no driving and no car. Hence, the expense to hire a lawyer and obliterate the ticket is worth it.

Although I am far from perfect, I have focused on abiding by the local laws for the vast majority of my life. Unfortunately, about five years ago, I realized that I was being accused of a crime that I didn't commit. I thought about letting the trial run its course, but then I realized that fighting would be important to ensure my future. I teamed up with a great lawyer, and things became much easier overnight. My legal counsel told me what to do and what to avoid, and he was able to prove the facts in a court of law. This blog is all about choosing to fight charges.
